Baba Siddique Murder Case: Charges Framed Against 27 Accused Under MCOCA; End Of The Road For Lawrence Bishnoi Gang?

In a significant development in the Baba Siddique murder case, a special MCOCA court in Mumbai has formally framed charges against 27 accused individuals. The proceedings, which began on Tuesday, involve serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, and the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).

Key Court Details: Out of the 27 accused, 15 were presented in court on Tuesday. Defense lawyer Ajinkya Mirgal stated that none of the accused have pleaded guilty so far. The prosecution, however, maintains that they have robust digital and forensic evidence linking the conspirators and sharp-shooters to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had claimed responsibility for the assassination. The court has directed all accused to remain present for the next hearing, which will focus on witness statements.
