Travel Relief in Wedding Season! Ayodhya-Shahganj Routes Get 10 Additional Bus Trips!

With the onset of the wedding season, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has taken significant measures to ease the commute for passengers in the Sultanpur district. To manage the massive influx of travelers, the department has increased bus trips by 10 on the Ayodhya and Kadipur-Shahganj routes. Additionally, new bus services have been introduced for Haliapur and Prayagraj, providing much-needed comfort to commuters.

Passenger Traffic Hits Record High The Sultanpur depot is witnessing a sharp spike in commuters, with daily footfall increasing from 21,000 to approximately 24,000. To cater to this surge, 164 buses are currently operating across various major cities including Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Azamgarh. The number of buses on the Shahganj route has been scaled up from 50 to 60, while the Ayodhya route now boasts 38 buses instead of the previous 32, completing multiple rounds a day.

Addressing Commuter Grievances Despite the added trips, the heavy rush occasionally leads to delays. Recently, passengers bound for Ambedkar Nagar had to wait for nearly two hours at the station. After protestors approached the Station Incharge, Nanhu Ram Saroj, it was clarified that the bus rotation was adjusted to prioritize high-demand routes. The administration has assured that they are monitoring the situation hourly to minimize wait times.

Strategic Boost for Haliapur and Prayagraj A dedicated bus service has been initiated for Haliapur via Kudwar and Parabazar, departing at 5:30 PM. This move has specifically benefited judges, lawyers, and litigants returning from the Civil Court. The bus halts at Haliapur overnight and departs for the depot at 7:00 AM the following day. Furthermore, the Prayagraj route now operates with 12 buses, ensuring better connectivity for students and professionals. Station Incharge Saroj emphasized that trips are being dynamically adjusted based on passenger load to ensure no traveler is left stranded during this festive rush.
