SC Adjourns High-Voltage I-PAC Case! Mystery of Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Green File’ Lingers Until Feb 18

The legal battle between the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the I-PAC raid has taken another turn, with the Supreme Court adjourning the hearing to February 18. The delay occurred as the Chief Minister’s lead counsel, Kapil Sibal, was reported to be unwell.
The case stems from an unprecedented incident on January 8, when ED officials were raiding the residence of I-PAC head Pratik Jain on Loudon Street. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unexpectedly arrived at the spot, entered the premises during the search, and was seen leaving with a mysterious green file. The ED moved the Apex Court, accusing her of obstructing justice and even leveled serious allegations of “theft.” Banerjee, in her affidavit, countered that she took the documents and devices only after obtaining permission from the officials on site. All eyes are now on the February 18 hearing.
