Not a Customer! Astha Singh Reveals Truth Behind the Heated Bank Brawl in Kanpur

A viral video involving an HDFC Bank employee from the Panki branch in Kanpur has sparked a massive debate on social media. The video shows the employee, identified as Astha Singh, engaged in a fierce verbal spat and making caste-based remarks. Following the backlash, Astha Singh has now issued a detailed clarification, claiming the video is being misinterpreted.
The Reality Behind the Spat: Setting the record straight, Astha Singh revealed that the incident is not recent but dates back to January 6. Furthermore, she clarified that the man in the video was not a customer. “The person I was arguing with is the husband of another female colleague at the bank. It is being falsely portrayed as a dispute with a bank client,” she stated.
Standing by Her Words: Addressing the controversy over her “I am a Thakur” remark, Singh admitted that using indecent language in a public service role was a mistake. However, she added, “If someone threatens to ‘teach me a lesson,’ I will not take it lying down. I am proud of my lineage and I stand by my identity.”
Internal Investigation Underway: While the video has drawn criticism for the perceived use of caste pride as an intimidation tactic, Singh’s clarification sheds light on the personal provocation involved. HDFC Bank is reportedly reviewing the incident to determine if any professional code of conduct was breached, even as Astha Singh maintains that she was merely defending her dignity.
