Last Rites of Ajit Pawar: Ashes Immersed in Ganga at Haridwar; NCP Workers Demand High-Level Inquiry

The ashes of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were immersed in the holy River Ganga at Haridwar’s VIP Ghat on Thursday. National President of Nationalist Youth Congress, Dheeraj Sharma, led the delegation of workers who brought the urn containing the ashes for the final rituals.
Vedic Rituals and Family’s Absence: The immersion was conducted by priests Sumit, Abhishek, and Sachin amidst Vedic chants. Notably, while a large number of NCP activists were present to bid a tearful adieu to their beloved ‘Ajit Dada’, no members of his family were present at the ceremony. Dheeraj Sharma explained that the ashes would be immersed in 14 sacred rivers across the country, including the Narmada, Chenab, and Godavari, to allow followers nationwide to pay their respects.
Call for Investigation: Following the rituals, Dheeraj Sharma raised concerns regarding the fatal aircraft accident that claimed Ajit Pawar’s life, demanding a neutral and thorough investigation to reveal the truth. Furthermore, the Nationalist Youth Congress has urged the government to rename the ‘Ladli Behen Yojana’ after Ajit Pawar, honoring his special dedication to the empowerment of women and girls in Maharashtra.
