Mega Job Boost for Bengal! Oracle Partners with State Govt to Train 15,000 Students for Free

In a significant move to bolster employment opportunities in the IT sector, the West Bengal government has announced a strategic partnership with global technology giant Oracle. Under this collaboration, 15,000 students and young professionals in the state will receive advanced digital technology training completely free of charge over the next three years.
The official launch took place on Wednesday in Salt Lake, attended by the State Minister for IT & Electronics, Babul Supriyo. The initiative, spearheaded by WEBEL (West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation) and Oracle, aims to train 15,000 talents by 2029 in high-demand fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and Data Science.
Minister Babul Supriyo welcomed the move, stating that this project will act as a ‘finishing school’ for students, bridging the gap between academic degrees and industry requirements. “The best part is that these world-class courses, which are otherwise expensive, will be provided for free to our youth,” he added. To ensure the training remains relevant, the curriculum will be updated quarterly. Upon completion, students will receive global certifications from Oracle, significantly enhancing their employability in the global tech market. This partnership marks a giant leap toward establishing West Bengal as India’s premier ‘Digital Talent Hub.’
