Clash of Books in Parliament! Nishikant Dubey Counters Rahul Gandhi with a List of 40 Books Exposing ‘Real History

The ongoing controversy surrounding former Army Chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished book has triggered an unprecedented ‘Battle of Books’ in the Indian Parliament. Countering Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s aggressive stance, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has fired a fresh salvo by presenting a list of 40 books that he claims expose the “dark secrets” of the Nehru-Gandhi family and the Congress regime.
The Genesis of the Dispute: The row intensified when Rahul Gandhi cited an unpublished memoir by General Naravane during a discussion on the 2020 India-China standoff. He alleged that the book contains mentions of PM Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The situation turned dramatic on Wednesday when Rahul Gandhi appeared in the Parliament complex carrying a copy of the said manuscript.
Dubey’s Strategic Counter-Attack: Taking the battle to social media and the floor of the House, Nishikant Dubey shared a curated list of 40 books on ‘X’. He argued that instead of discussing unverified manuscripts, the Parliament should look into these published works that detail the Emergency (1975-77), dynastic politics, and alleged administrative failures of previous Congress governments.
Heated Exchange in Lok Sabha: Tensions flared in the Lok Sabha as Dubey read out excerpts from these books. He alleged that over 150 published works exist that highlight “corruption, fraud, and unethical relationships” associated with the Gandhi family. The Opposition strongly objected to this, leading to repeated disruptions. This scholarly yet fiery confrontation has turned the political spotlight back onto India’s historical narratives.
