The Pradhan Mantri Wani project has been launched by the Government of India, the main objective of which is to provide affordable and easily accessible public Wi-Fi services across the country.

Under this project, any individual or shopkeeper can set up a public Wi-Fi hotspot (Public Data Office – PDO) and provide internet services to others. Internet users will pay you for it, which will create an income opportunity for you.

A major feature of this project is that no license is required to provide public Wi-Fi services. This makes it easy for small businesses and individuals to participate.

There is no need to invest much to start this project. You can offer this service by using the excess Wi-Fi data of your shop or home.

The prices of these internet plans are very affordable. The plans are available from Rs. 5 to Rs. 99. There are various options like 1 GB data for 1 day (Rs. 6), 2 GB data for 2 days (Rs. 9), 5 GB data for 3 days (Rs. 18). Each plan has different validity and data benefits.

A plan of 100 GB data for a month is available for just Rs. 99. Any person participating in this project can create their own internet plan according to their needs and the demands of the customers.

To join this project, you must have a Wi-Fi connection like JioFiber, BSNL or Airtel.

Next, you need to set up hotspot equipment to provide internet service to people. Also, you need to join any PM-WANI approved PDOA (Public Data Office Aggregator), which will provide you with user login, OTP based access and plan setup services.

C-DOT is a government PDOA organization. Finally, you need to register as a PDO by visiting the website pmwani.gov.in. Here you need to provide your name, mobile number, shop/place address and internet connection details. After that, you can set up the plan and start earning using the login ID provided by PDOA.
