Indian Railways: Passengers happy despite paying fine for pulling chain, everyone is shocked to hear the reason

In the Agra division of Indian Railways, a high-speed train suddenly stopped near a village due to the chain pulling. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway workers quickly reached the spot. It was seen that a passenger was getting down with his family with luggage. The RPF jawans immediately detained him and fined him. But even after the fine, the passenger had a smile on his face. Everyone present was shocked to know the reason.
The other passengers present asked the man why he was happy despite paying the fine. In response, the passenger said that the next stop of the train is far away. It would have cost him a lot of time and money to get down there and return by hiring a car.
The Agra Railway Division has taken strict action against unnecessarily pulling the train alarm chain. A total of 821 people have been taken action against them from January to April 2025 and a fine of Rs 39,330 has been collected from them.
Agra Division is continuously working to provide better services to the passengers. Agra Division’s Commerce Department and RPF have conducted a special investigation drive against unnecessary chain pulling. During this drive, 271 people were fined at Agra Chhauni station, 26 at Agra Fort station, 438 at Mathura Junction and 25 at Dholpur station. The Railways has clearly stated that chain pulling without proper reason is illegal and is a punishable offence. This results in disruption of train schedules and inconvenience to other passengers.
The Railway Administration has appealed to the passengers to use the alarm chain only in emergency situations. Pulling the chain without proper reason delays the train, which results in wastage of time of the passengers and disruption of railway operations. This drive by Agra Mandal is being conducted to make the passengers aware and ensure that the trains run on time.
