According to the latest information, Ukraine has carried out a significant attack on four crucial Russian airbases.³ This offensive raises the possibility of a substantial retaliatory strike from Russia.

Largest Drone Attack

Ukraine directly attacked Russia’s Olenya and Belaya airbases, utilizing drones for the operation. It is reported that the locations targeted by Ukraine are far from the Russia-Ukraine border. According to Ukrainian media, this marks the largest drone attack conducted by the Ukrainian army. Ukraine launched these drone strikes against the very locations from which Russia had targeted Ukraine.

Over 40 Bombers Destroyed

Following the attack, Ukraine has officially issued a statement. The Ukrainian army targeted several Russian airbases.⁴ In this assault, Ukraine claims to have destroyed over 40 bomber aircraft, which were used to attack Ukraine.⁵ A total of four airbases were targeted: Olenya Airbase in Murmansk, Belaya Airbase in Irkutsk, Ivanovo Airbase in Ivanovo, and Dyagilevo.⁶

Russian Aircraft Attacked

According to information provided by the Ukrainian security services, large Russian bomber aircraft such as the Tu-95 and Tu-22, as well as the rare and expensive A-50 spy plane, were destroyed in this attack.⁷
