The name of Sinha, a former Union Minister and currently the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, is now being linked with leaders like Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupender Yadav, who were previously discussed. Sinha’s distinction lies in his extensive administrative experience and deep connection with the RSS. Sinha, who hails from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and belongs to the Bhumihar Brahmin community, studied at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and IIT. His technical knowledge and proficiency in social media make him suitable for modern politics.

His tenure in Jammu and Kashmir has further strengthened his image. There, he took several steps for transparency and development in administration, which Prime Minister Modi himself praised. Sinha’s experience and organizational skills make him a strong contender in this race. But can he hold both the party and the RSS together? This question still remains.

Other contenders and caste equations

Before Manoj Sinha, the names of Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupender Yadav were in discussion. Both come from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and have strong influence within the organization. Additionally, the name of former Union Minister Smriti Irani also surfaced for some time, but no significant consensus was formed regarding her candidacy. Both the BJP and the RSS agree that the new president should be someone who will give new strength to the organization, effectively implement electoral strategies, and balance regional and caste equations. Especially, gaining the support of OBCs and other communities in states like Bihar and West Bengal is crucial for the party.
