Buses Crossing 22 Countries Reach London

An Indian bus company is set to achieve the record for the world’s longest bus journey by road. The bus, named Adventure Overland, will commence its journey from Istanbul and traverse 22 countries before reaching London. The bus is partly inspired by the Hippie Trail buses that traveled the world in the 1950s and 1960s.
From Turkey, the bus will cover a distance of 12,000 kilometers to reach London. This journey, from Istanbul through the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Western Europe to London, will take 56 days. It is reported that 30 passengers will be able to travel on the first trip. The bus, departing from Istanbul on August 7, will arrive in London on October 1.
Travelers on the world’s longest bus journey will pay $24,300 USD, which is equivalent to 2,556,296 Bangladeshi Taka. This cost includes passengers’ hotel stays, daily breakfast, and 30 days of lunch and dinner provided by Adventure Overland. This means passengers will not have to pay any extra money for accommodation and meals.
A nearly two-month bus journey might not appeal to all passengers. Therefore, keeping the long journey in mind, the vehicle has been designed to be extremely comfortable. Adventure Overland describes the bus as ‘specially luxurious.’
According to Guinness World Records, the current longest bus route in the world runs from Lima, Peru, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The journey from Lima to Rio de Janeiro by bus covers a distance of 6,200 kilometers.
Adventure Overland was founded in 2012 by entrepreneurs Tushar Agarwal and Sanjay Madan.
