A four-month-old infant has paid the ultimate price for a horrific domestic dispute. A mother is accused of slamming her own child to death during a heated argument with her husband. This tragic incident occurred in Ichapur village, Hasnabad, North 24 Parganas, sending shockwaves and casting a pall of grief over the entire area.

Upon receiving news of the barbaric incident on Friday morning, Hasnabad Police Station swiftly arrived at the scene. The child’s lifeless body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination to Basirhat District Hospital. Following the incident, the accused couple was detained and taken to the police station. After extensive interrogation, Hasnabad Police finally arrested the “killer” mother, Anita Sardar.

Basirhat District Superintendent of Police, Hossain Mehedi Rahman, stated, “We are investigating whether this was solely a family dispute or if there was any other deeper reason behind it. The role of the arrested woman’s husband is also under investigation. The arrested individual will be presented in court on Saturday.”

According to local sources, Tufan Sardar and Anita Sardar reside in Ichapur village, under Hasnabad’s Bhawanipur Gram Panchayat. There were frequent reports of domestic discord between the couple. Despite repeated attempts by both families to resolve their disputes, their efforts were unsuccessful. The couple often quarreled over various issues.
