A shocking incident unfolded in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man, desperate for marriage, tragically set himself on fire in front of his girlfriend’s house. The man, identified as 25-year-old Faiyaz Ahmed from Amdari village, had been in a long-term relationship with a minor girl and both desired to marry. However, the girl’s family was vehemently against their union, leading to immense pressure on Faiyaz. After returning from Gujarat, where he worked, Faiyaz arrived at the girl’s home with a bottle of petrol, threatening self-immolation if her family didn’t agree to the marriage. Despite his desperate pleas and threats, the family remained unyielding.

The situation escalated dramatically when Faiyaz poured petrol on himself. As he attempted to light a match, family members tried to intervene, but a spark ignited the spilled petrol on the ground, and the flames quickly engulfed him. Trapped in the inferno, Faiyaz frantically ran around, his upper body severely burned. The horrifying scene caused panic, and locals rushed to douse the flames. After extinguishing the fire, the severely injured young man collapsed to the ground and was immediately rushed to the district hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to Varanasi for further treatment. The entire chilling incident was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media, prompting an investigation by the police, who confirmed the case is linked to a love affair. Further action will be taken based on the youth’s statement.
