“Creating Movies Just Got Easier” – Google Unveils New AI Tools for Photo and Video Editing

Google caused a stir in the tech world at the recently concluded Google I/O 2025 conference by unveiling two cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) based tools: the image generator Imagen 4 and the video generator Veo 3. The company claims these tools will enable the creation of highly realistic images and videos, capable of capturing significantly more detail and information than other AI photo and video generators.
One of the highlights of this year’s Google I/O conference was Flow, an AI-powered video tool specifically designed for filmmakers and creative professionals. Users will be able to generate images and videos, respectively, through Imagen 4 and Veo 3 using text and image prompts. Notably, Veo 3 not only generates videos but also automatically adds suitable audio, which will bring a new dimension to video content creation.
Veo 3: The Next Step in Video Generation
Google announced that Veo 3 is their latest and most advanced version of their video generation model. It can create short video clips based on text or image prompts. According to the company, videos created with the Veo 3 model will be much more realistic and will feature significantly improved motion.
This service is initially being launched in the United States. It was announced at Google I/O 2025 that Veo 3 is currently available in beta. Users in the U.S. can access it through the Gemini app and Flow, provided they have a Google AI Ultra plan subscription.
Modernizing Veo 2
Google has also introduced a significant update for their previous video platform, Veo 2. This update includes advanced options such as Reference Inputs, Camera Controls, Outpainting, and Object Add & Remove.
Meanwhile, Google’s new AI image generator model, Imagen 4, is capable of creating images with 2K resolution. Users will be able to see fabric textures, light reflections, and other subtle details with extreme clarity in these images. This model will be adept at generating images ranging from photorealistic pictures to various types of illustrations based on prompts.
One of Imagen 4’s key features is its ability to add text with accurate spelling within images, allowing users to easily create posters or other creative designs. Google is currently working on integrating Imagen 4 with their Gemini, Vertex AI, Whisk, and Workspace tools, which will provide users with a unified experience.
