The Mahindra Armado, designed specifically for the armed forces, is a powerhouse equipped with CEN B7 STANAG Level 2 bulletproof protection and a 215-horsepower 3.2-liter diesel engine. As an Armored Light Specialist Vehicle (ALSV), it can mount grenade launchers and anti-tank missiles, making it a versatile asset. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic, with over 1,850 units ordered in 2023, features 4×4 drive, olive green paint, blackout lights, and towing hooks, tailored for rugged terrains. Similarly, the Tata Safari Storme GS800, custom-built for the army, offers an 800-kg payload capacity, 4×4 drive, and air conditioning, excelling in high-altitude and snowy regions.

The Toyota Hilux, inducted into the fleet in 2023, proved its mettle in tests at 13,000 feet and temperatures as low as -15°C, ensuring reliability in extreme conditions. Rounding out the lineup is the Force Gurkha, dubbed the “desi G-Wagon.” Selected in 2018 as a Light Strike Vehicle, it boasts 4×4 drive, a snorkel, and differential locks, making it unstoppable in challenging terrains.
