India-Pakistan tension after Pahalgam attack, Trump said – a way will be found

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 has taken India-Pakistan tension to new heights. After the death of 26 people in the attack, India took tough steps, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Attari check post and cancelling the SAARC visa exemption scheme for Pakistani citizens. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said, “It was a bad attack, but India and Pakistan will resolve it.” He expressed confidence in the leaders of both countries, referring to the centuries-old tension in Kashmir.

These steps of India have infuriated Pakistan. Pakistan stopped trade at the Wagah border in retaliation and expelled Indian military diplomats. Experts believe that the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty could affect Pakistan’s agriculture and energy needs, as it is 80% dependent on the western rivers. India justified this suspension under international law, stating that Pakistan’s pro-terrorism policies violate the spirit of the treaty.

Trump’s remarks have drawn global attention, but a solution to the India-Pakistan tensions appears far from easy. Iran has offered to mediate, while the World Bank said it had not received a formal notice of the treaty suspension. Experts are warning that the tensions could affect regional stability. At the moment, diplomatic relations between the two countries are at their lowest point, and the future course remains uncertain.
