World by 2050: Water crisis, increase in cancer, India will become the country with the largest Muslim population

Massive changes are expected in the world by the year 2050, which will deeply affect human life. According to a 2017 report by the Pew Research Center, India will become the country with the largest Muslim population by 2050, surpassing Indonesia. The United Nations Meteorological Organization (WMO) has warned that more than 5 billion people will face water shortages due to climate change. The World Health Organization’s Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) estimates that cancer cases will increase by 77% to 35 million. In addition, researchers at Lancet Global Health have claimed that the number of blind people could increase from 36 million to 115 million due to inadequate treatment.
Global life expectancy will increase by five years, to 76.2 for men and 80.5 years for women. However, according to a Cambridge University study, working outside during the day may become 15% harder in the Indian subcontinent due to extreme heat. On the other hand, 60 countries at COP-28 have pledged to reduce carbon emissions by 68% by 2050. “It is important to act now to avoid a climate crisis,” a local environmentalist wrote on X. These changes underscore the urgent need for global policies and collective efforts.
