Katy Perry’s space journey: Women created history, sang ‘Wonderful World’

Houston: American pop star Katy Perry created history by traveling to space on Blue Origin’s ‘New Shepard’ rocket. She was accompanied by five other women in this mission launched from Texas at 7:30 pm on Monday, who were recorded as the first all-women crew of space travel. In this 11-minute journey, Perry performed her song ‘What a Wonderful World’ at an altitude of 100 km, which made the mission memorable.

Loren Sanchez, Gayle King, Amanda Nuen, Aisha Bowie and Kerion Flynn shared this unprecedented experience with Perry. After returning to Earth, an emotional Perry kissed the earth and wrote on social media, “There is no place like home.” He said, “I made this trip for my daughter Daisy.” This was the 10th flight of Blue Origin, in which 52 people have reached space so far. Mission director Sarah Jones said, “This mission is a symbol of the strength and inspiration of women.” This journey not only promotes space tourism, but also underlines gender equality. However, some critics consider it a hobby of the rich. This mission is a unique amalgamation of science, courage and art, which will inspire future generations.
