Property dispute deepens in Chirag Paswan’s family: Badi Maa Rajkumari Devi makes serious allegations against sisters-in-law

Khagaria: Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s family is once again in the headlines, but this time the reason is not politics, but a family dispute over property. Late Ram Vilas Paswan’s first wife and Chirag’s elder mother Rajkumari Devi has made serious allegations against her two sisters-in-law. This dispute has now escalated so much that the matter has reached the police station, and Rajkumari Devi has appealed to Chirag for her rights.

“I am in danger of my life”

Rajkumari Devi, who lives alone in Shaharbanni village of Khagaria, narrated her ordeal in a press conference on Thursday. She said, “I am in danger of my life from Pashupati Kumar Paras’ wife Shobha Devi and late Ramchandra Paswan’s wife Sunaina Devi. Two days ago, both of them came to my house, quarreled with me and locked my bedroom and bathroom.” Hurt by this incident, Rajkumari Devi’s health deteriorated, and she is under mental stress. The pain was evident in her voice when she said, “I am alone, there is no one to listen to me.”

Demand for property division

The root of this dispute is the division of Ram Vilas Paswan’s property. Rajkumari Devi alleged that she has not got her full rights. “I want a third share in the properties of Shaharbanni, Khagaria, Patna and Delhi. What I got is less. I have been wronged,” she said. For this, she has demanded a fair division of property from her son Chirag Paswan. This demand not only reflects her displeasure, but also points to deep differences in the Paswan family.

Case registered against five people

The matter did not end here. Rajkumari Devi has given legal form to her complaint and registered a case against five people in Alauli police station. It includes Pashupati Kumar Paras’s wife Shobha Devi, Ramchandra Paswan’s wife Sunaina Devi, a bodyguard and two drivers. Khagaria SP Rakesh Kumar confirmed this and said, “A case has been registered on the basis of the written application, and the investigation has started.” This move makes this dispute more serious, as now it has gone beyond a family feud and has taken the form of a legal battle.

History of Paswan family

Ram Vilas Paswan’s personal life is also important in understanding this dispute. The former Union Minister had two marriages. He was first married to Rajkumari Devi, but later got divorced. After this, in 1983, he married Reena Sharma, who is Chirag Paswan’s mother. After the death of Ram Vilas in 2020, Chirag took over the command of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and is now discharging his responsibilities as a Union Minister. However, the family has seen political confrontation between Chirag and his uncle Pashupati Paras before, and now this property dispute is taking a new turn.

Human angle and local response

This dispute is not just a matter of property, but also a tangle of emotions and relationships. Local people are also upset seeing the condition of Rajkumari Devi, a resident of Shaharbanni. A villager said, “Ram Vilas ji united everyone, but after his departure the family is falling apart. It is sad to see this.” At the same time, the news of Rajkumari Devi’s deteriorating health has caused concern among her supporters. Her demands and complaints indicate that she is ready to fight for her rights till the last breath.

Political and family conflict
This matter has deepened the already existing rift within the Paswan family. Pashupati Paras’ faction has termed it a conspiracy of Chirag. National LJP spokesperson Shravan Agarwal said, “All this is a trick to defame Pashupati ji. Chirag has created this drama by sending his people.” On the other hand, Chirag’s party has targeted Pashupati, calling it shameful. This conflict can affect not only the family but also politically, especially in Bihar where the Paswan family has strong influence.

What next?

At present, the police is investigating the matter, but it is clear that this dispute of the Paswan family is not going to be resolved soon. Rajkumari Devi’s demand and Chirag’s silence are raising new questions in this story. Will Chirag take any step for his elder mother, or will this matter reach the court? It remains to be seen. But it is certain that this property dispute is not only dividing the family, but is also raising questions on the legacy of Ram Vilas Paswan.
