Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slams Trinamool Congress: Who is ‘good day’ for?

In a recent discussion in the Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slammed the Trinamool Congress. She asserted that the central government is committed to the welfare of the people and ‘good day’ has not come for those who are involved in corruption.
Responding to the discussion on the Finance Bill, Sitharaman said that the Congress did not find anything to criticize in the budget. She also said that the central government is dedicated to serving the country.
The parties criticizing the center are not doing enough for the people of the states they govern. Reacting to the comments of the Trinamool MPs, Sitharaman said that those who question ‘acche din’ come from a party that has promised ‘ma mati manush’ but has not done anything for the people. The ‘katmani’ groups in West Bengal are preventing good projects and works from reaching the common man.
Sitharaman made it clear that for her, ‘Sudin’ means tireless service to the country, so that the common man can benefit. She asked those who complain for political gain to go to the common man and get the views of the beneficiaries of the projects. She also said that ‘Sudin’ has not yet come for those for whom governance means corruption.
Taking a dig at Congress leader P Chidambaram’s criticism of the budget, Sitharaman said that the Congress has not found any specific point of criticism in the 2025-26 budget. There is nothing in this budget with which the Congress can attack the central government.
Main points:
The central government’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
Criticism of the corruption and mismanagement of the Trinamool Congress.
The real meaning of ‘Sudin’ and the views of the beneficiaries.
Lack of criticism of the Congress’s budget.
