Indian-origin NASA astronaut Sunita Williams (Sunita Williams-India) has successfully returned to Earth. After being stranded in space for nine months, Sunita and three other astronauts returned aboard Elon Musk’s SpaceX Dragon Capsule. Her homecoming is being celebrated worldwide.
India, in particular, is rejoicing at her return. As soon as she came back, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his congratulations. Now, Sunita’s cousin, Falguni Pandya, has shared the exciting news of her visit to India.
Sunita’s Sister Expresses Her Joy at the Homecoming
Although born in the United States, Sunita Williams (Sunita Williams-India) has Indian roots. Speaking to the media, her cousin Falguni revealed that she immediately visited a temple to offer prayers for Sunita’s safe return to Earth. She expressed her gratitude to God for bringing her sister back safely. She also shared some wonderful news.
Sunita is Coming to India!
Falguni announced that Sunita Williams (Sunita Williams-India) will be visiting India very soon. This time, she plans to spend quality time with her family and even take a vacation together. However, it’s not just Falguni who is eager to welcome her—Prime Minister Modi had already extended an invitation to the “Daughter of India” well in advance. He even wrote an open letter to her.
PM Modi’s Open Letter to Sunita
In his letter, PM Modi wrote, “Even though you are 1,000 km away from us, you remain close to our hearts.” He further mentioned that Sunita’s mother is eagerly waiting for her return, and she is undoubtedly blessed by the soul of her late father. Modi also recalled his 2016 meeting with Sunita’s relatives, Bony Pandya and Deepak Pandya, and extended his congratulations to Sunita’s husband.
When Modi wrote this letter, Sunita Williams (Sunita Williams-India) had not yet landed on Earth. However, as soon as she returned, the Prime Minister sent a message of congratulations. He wrote, “Welcome, Crew-9! The Earth missed you. This mission was a test of determination, courage, and boundless energy. Sunita Williams and the Crew-9 astronauts have once again shown us the true meaning of perseverance.”
