Narendra Modi enters Donald Trump’s world, opens ‘account’ on Truth Social, what did he write

US President Donald Trump has been active on his social media ‘Truth Social’ for a long time. This time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has entered his world. On Monday, he opened an account on Trump’s microblogging site. On the same day, Trump shared the link to the Prime Minister’s podcast from his ‘Truth’ handle.

Modi then opened an account there.

In his first post, the Prime Minister wrote, “Delighted to join Truth Social! I look forward to interacting with all the enthusiastic people here and participating in meaningful conversations in the future.” He also shared a picture of the two of them at the ‘Howdy Modi’ event. Incidentally, Trump had shared the link to Modi’s podcast with Lex Fiedman on Monday. Modi made another post of his own regarding that. There, he wrote, “Thank you my friend, President Trump. I had a wide-ranging discussion on my life, India’s civilisational outlook, international affairs and more.” This is PM Modi’s first interaction on Truth Social. Trump often uses the micro-blogging site. The Prime Minister’s presence reflects the strong bond between the two leaders.

Trump shared a podcast of the three-hour conversation between PM Modi and Lex Friedman on his social media platform on Monday morning. Trump’s support for the podcast is an indication of his support for Modi. The podcast reveals PM Modi’s life experiences and his views on international affairs. It also captures Modi’s personal reflections on his friendship with Trump. During the podcast, the Prime Minister heaped praise on Trump. Modi said, “Even after the attacks during the presidential campaign, Trump was not intimidated. He was dedicated to America.”

Modi told Friedman that he and Trump have a good relationship because they both put their country first. He added, “Even after Trump’s resignation during Joe Biden’s tenure, their relationship remained intact.”

When asked what he liked about the US President, Modi reminisced, “In his first term, Trump ignored security protocols. He agreed to walk in front of the audience at the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in Houston at his request.”

Trump launched Truth Social in 2022. He was banned from major sites like Facebook and X after the attack on the US Capitol in 2021. He then created his own microblogging site.
