Muslim Population Decline Expected in These Countries by 2050, Major Changes Revealed About India

According to the Pew Research Center’s study “The Future of World Religions,” Islam is predicted to become the world’s most followed religion by 2050. However, some regions will see a significant decline in their Muslim populations. One such region is the Asia-Pacific, where the Muslim population, which was 61.7% in 2010, is expected to drop to 52.8% by 2050.
The study also projects significant growth in the Hindu population. By 2050, Hinduism will become the third-largest religion globally, with an increase of 34%, bringing the Hindu population to 1.4 billion. India, the center of Hinduism, will also become the country with the largest Muslim population, surpassing Indonesia. By 2050, India’s Muslim population is expected to reach over 310 million, making up 18% of the total population, while Hindus will still make up 77% of the country.
