Due to clashes! Internet service will be closed ‘here’ till March 17! State issues guidelines

Nowadays, people’s lives are largely dependent on the Internet. From office work to markets, shops, everything is possible through it. However, this time, the Principal Secretary of the Home and Hill Affairs Department of the State Government (Government of West Bengal) has issued a guideline stating that Internet service will be closed till March 17.
This decision was taken as the Sainthia area of Birbhum became heated due to group clashes.
What is said in the guideline (Government of West Bengal)?
It is learned that various areas of Birbhum became heated due to stone pelting on the day of Dol festival. Due to clashes between two groups, an atmosphere of unrest was created in the area of five gram panchayats. Tension prevailed in Mathapalsa Gram Panchayat, Hatora Gram Panchayat, Harisara Gram Panchayat, Phulur Gram Panchayat and Dariyapur Gram Panchayat areas. Due to which police forces were deployed in those areas.
This time, it has been decided to shut down internet services to stop rumors in that incident. This was informed by issuing a directive from the Principal Secretary of the State Home and Hill Affairs Department. Administrative officials said that this decision is mainly to stop illegal activities and spreading rumors.
The directive said that due to the recent incident, internet services will be shut down in the Sainthia town area of Sainthia Municipality, Mathapalsa Gram Panchayat, Hatora Gram Panchayat, Harisara Gram Panchayat, Phulur Gram Panchayat and Dariyapur Gram Panchayat areas of Birbhum. It is reported that internet services will be shut down in those areas from March 14. It will remain closed till 8 am on Monday, March 17.
However, the instructions (Government of West Bengal) state that even though internet services are closed, voice calls and SMS services will remain operational. As a result, there is no problem in making normal calls and SMS.
