IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad Gears Up with Strong Squad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is leaving no stone unturned in assembling a formidable squad for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The core group of players has been retained, ensuring stability and experience within the team. However, there remains uncertainty over captain Pat Cummins’ availability at the start of the tournament. Amidst these concerns, SRH fans have found relief in the fitness update of Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has successfully passed all fitness tests and is ready to deliver from the first match.
Nitish, who had been sidelined since January due to a side strain, underwent rigorous rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence. He cleared crucial fitness benchmarks, including the Yo-Yo test, earning clearance from physios to participate in competitive cricket. Although he featured in India’s first T20I against England on January 22, he did not bowl. His absence from subsequent matches highlighted his recovery phase. SRH had retained him for ₹6 crore ahead of the mega auction, banking on his previous IPL exploits where he scored 303 runs in 13 matches last season. His Test performance against Australia further solidified his reputation as a reliable all-rounder.
With their campaign set to kick off on March 23 against Rajasthan Royals, SRH boasts a robust batting lineup capable of unsettling any bowling attack. Openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma will aim to provide explosive starts, while middle-order batters like Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhinav Manohar promise fireworks. Should Cummins miss the early games, Abhishek Sharma could take over leadership duties. Experienced bowlers such as Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, and Adam Zampa add depth to the bowling unit. With strategic flexibility and emerging talents like Umran Malik in the ranks, SRH looks poised to challenge for the title this season.
