“Very boring country”: Man warns Indians against moving to New Zealand, sparks debate

An Indian man, who grew up in New Zealand, has revealed that he believes it is not ideal for Indians to move to the country. He warned his Indian peers against moving to New Zealand, and shared his experience of his childhood there and then returning to India.

In his post on Reddit, the man called New Zealand “a geographically isolated country” that feels like a small city where “you are not connected to the rest of the world.” Describing it as “a very boring country”, he compared it to the vibrant lifestyle of India, where markets and festivals are full of life. “Even the biggest shopping malls close at 7 pm. Most shops close at 5-6 pm. You walk through the city centre after 8.30 pm and hardly anyone is seen outside. There are barely any cars driving at night,” he wrote.

He also claimed that most foreigners hate living in New Zealand because it is very expensive to live here. “You take a bus/taxi to go from one city to another and that eats up most of your week’s expenses. So people often stay at home and do nothing after work,” he said.
