Salary Hike: From 16,000 to 38,000 at Once!

The West Bengal government has announced a significant pay hike for contractual workers as the new year begins. Starting from April, salaries will see a substantial increase, especially for drivers whose monthly income will jump from 16,000 rupees to an impressive 38,000 rupees. This decision was made under the state’s “Nabanna” initiative and is based on the employees’ years of experience.
This salary increment also applies to newly hired workers, with their starting salary now set at 16,000 rupees per month. Additionally, workers with 5 years of experience will receive 20,000 rupees, while those with 10, 15, and 20 years of experience will earn 25,000, 31,000, and 38,000 rupees respectively. The move aims to motivate workers and improve their standard of living.
