According to scientists, the average weight of a cumulus cloud is 1.1 million pounds (about 500,000 kilograms). This means that at any given time during the monsoon, there are millions of pounds of water floating above your head, weighing about 100 elephants!

The density of water in cumulus clouds is about 0.5 grams per cubic meter. When the total volume of the cloud and the density of water are multiplied, the total weight of water present in the cloud is 500 million grams i.e. 500,000 kilograms.
