Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar has issued an alert ahead of the Holi celebrations, particularly for areas where past disputes have occurred during the festival. He emphasized that senior police officers should be deployed in such areas to maintain vigilance and ensure peace. Adequate police forces, along with fire brigade vehicles, should be stationed during the Holika Dahan ceremony to avoid any untoward incidents.

Additionally, the DGP advised extra caution due to Friday prayers coinciding with the Holi festivities. Police officers were instructed to remain on high alert and take preventive measures against potential disturbances. Authorities have been urged to identify and take action against any elements attempting to disrupt the celebrations, ensuring that the festival remains peaceful and harmonious across the state.
