Ukraine has launched a major drone attack on the Russian capital Moscow. Russia has claimed that Ukraine has launched a major drone attack on Moscow. According to a Reuters report, Russian officials and media said that Ukraine targeted the Russian capital on Wednesday morning in its largest drone attack ever. Due to which the two airports serving the city had to be closed.
Houses damaged in the attack
The drone attack caused fires and damaged houses. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that at least 60 drones were destroyed as they headed towards the city. “At this time, the roof of a building in Moscow has some damage from the debris of a fallen UAV,” Sobyanin said in a post on the Telegram messaging app. In an earlier post, he said there were no initial reports of casualties.
Building fire
With a population of at least 21 million, Moscow and the surrounding area are one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe, along with Istanbul. Baza, a news Telegram channel close to Russia’s security services, and other Russian news Telegram channels posted videos of fires in several residential areas around Moscow. A Baza video showed a fire in an apartment in a multi-story residential building in the Ramenskoye district of the Moscow region, about 50 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin.
