9 Lakh Govt Jobs in 9 Years! Uttar Pradesh Emerges as India’s Powerhouse Growth Engine

Celebrating nine years in office (2017-2026), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released the book ‘Nav Nirman Ke 9 Varsh’ (9 Years of Reconstruction), highlighting a paradigm shift in Uttar Pradesh’s governance. The CM claimed that his administration has provided over 9 lakh government jobs with “zero-corruption” in the selection process. This includes the recruitment of 2.19 lakh police personnel and 1.75 lakh women in various departments.

The state’s economic metrics show a dramatic turnaround; the GSDP has surged from ₹13 lakh crore to approximately ₹36 lakh crore, while the unemployment rate has plummeted from 6.4% to 2.4%. Adityanath emphasized that UP has moved out of the ‘BIMARU’ category and is now contributing 9.1% to the national GDP. With India’s largest expressway network and upcoming projects like the Noida International Airport, Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as the key driver of Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
