A massive cloud formation, stretching across nearly 1,000 kilometers over India and Pakistan, has been captured in the latest satellite imagery released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This gargantuan atmospheric system is a result of a powerful ‘Western Disturbance’ that is currently moving eastward, signaling imminent weather chaos in North-Western India.

Meteorologists warn that states including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are directly in the line of fire. Residents can expect heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds over the next 48 to 72 hours. There is also a significant risk of hailstorms in the Himalayan foothills and surrounding plains, which could devastate standing crops. While the rain might provide temporary relief from the rising summer heat, the IMD warns that temperatures will likely soar again once the system passes. Urban areas have been put on alert for potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
