₹308 Lakh Crore Economy by 2047! Governor Unveils ‘Swarna Andhra Vision’ in Assembly

In a landmark address to the joint session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer unveiled the state’s ambitious “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047.” The roadmap aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a ₹308 lakh crore (USD 3.4 trillion) economy with a per capita income of ₹55 lakh by 2047. Highlighting the state’s current economic momentum, the Governor noted that the GSDP has risen to ₹17.6 lakh crore, clocking a growth of 10.7%, while the current per capita income stands at ₹2.95 lakh.
The session was marked by high political drama as YSRCP MLAs, led by former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, staged a walkout while demanding opposition party status. Jagan was attending the house after a gap of nearly a year. Undeterred by the slogans, the Governor detailed the government’s commitment to urban governance and infrastructure, confirming that the Union Government has initiated the process to grant statutory status to Amaravati as the permanent capital. He also highlighted successful welfare initiatives like the “Super Six” guarantees, the “Sthree Shakti” free bus scheme, and expanded healthcare coverage of up to ₹25 lakh for BPL families.
