₹2.38 Crore Scam in Odisha! Vigilance Raids 5 Locations Linked to Angul Hospital Staff

The Odisha Vigilance Department on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at five locations associated with a junior assistant of the Angul District Headquarters Hospital over the alleged misappropriation of government funds amounting to ₹2.38 crore. A criminal case has been registered at the Cuttack Vigilance Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused, Subrat Kumar Behera.
A high-level team comprising 5 DSPs, 8 Inspectors, and 14 ASIs executed the search warrants across Angul, Dhenkanal, and Bhubaneswar. According to officials, Behera, who was posted in the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), is suspected of siphoning off a massive sum from the state treasury for personal gain. The investigation is currently ongoing, with authorities scrutinizing bank records and property documents seized during the operation to uncover the full extent of the financial irregularities.
